First crafted in Maryland in the 1890s, Pikesville Rye was part of the booming pre-Prohibition rye whiskey scene that once defined the region. While Prohibition shuttered the entire industry, Pikesville was one of the few brands to re-emerge and ultimately became the last-standing Maryland Rye, a lone standard-bearer of a proud whiskey tradition.

Today, Pikesville lives on under the care of Heaven Hill Distillery, which has preserved its legacy by producing the whiskey in Kentucky using extra-aged barrels from prime warehouse locations. The result is a bold, spicy, and richly complex rye, maintaining the heritage of Maryland-style rye while benefiting from the craftsmanship and climate of Kentucky maturation.
